Music is in our church DNA
At Pond Square Chapel, pretty much everything we do includes music in some way, whether singing hymns and songs at our Services or dancing at a Ceilidh for a church party!
Robert Manning, our Director of Music, is an accomplished musician with a zest for life who encourages everyone in the congregation to listen to new works (including world premières he has composed or commissioned), as well as old favourites.
The church has a superb 19th century two-manual, tracker-action chamber organ with a bright, sweet tone. It also hosts an excellent Bösendorfer grand piano on permanent loan; this has a beautiful, mellow sound. A collection of children's percussion instruments is available and is used with enthusiasm by children and adults alike in suitable repetoire.
